The chocolate cakes, Chocolate Fudge and Double Pralines and Strawberry Cognac are such decadent treats, having the taste that is very rich and complex. When I first have the Double Praline, the first thought was that "At last, I found a better chocolate cake than Jivara! No more nonsense with the bad service at Bakerzin (Paragon)!" The chocolate cakes here (made with Valhorna chocolates) will delight most chocolate fans, though the Strawberry Cognac has a mix of tart taste in it that may not appeal to those who dislike sour taste in cakes.
Cocoa Napoleon is a disappointment, because I was expecting this cake to showcase the smooth texture and the pronounced delicate aroma of the mascarpone cheese, just like Strawberry Cognac did. But this cake tastes more like the drier version of Double Pralines, the presence of mascarpone cheese is hardly felt. For Empress Dowager: Nice. The mousse tasted of authentic strawberries (none of this yucky, fake taste of strawberry essence). One of the best strawberry mousse cakes I had eaten, though it is not "wow" inducing.
Service wise, it is not too bad, but not great either. The service at Flor still triumphs over the one at here.
Nevertheless, I will be going back soon to indulge in more of their cakes!
