Daawat Tandoori Restaurant (Upper Thomson Rd) - Nice, Humble North Indian food

Whenever I have cravings for North Indian food, I'll think of this place and Tandoor at Holiday Inn. The reason is that these places serve intensely flavoured, yet not over spicy North Indian food in the comforts of an air conditioned place. However, Tandoor is more for occasions where I want to splurge on North Indian fine dining. For the usual cravings, Daawat is the choice since the food is priced very affordably and the set lunches is absolutely value for money (for between $10~$20, one can get rice, with various type of curry and sides, few pieces of meat, a glass of soft drink and a dessert).

The vegetables with yoghurt (Raita), is a must order because it is very refreshing and helps a lot to quench the spiciness. The rice is very fragrant, the same goes for the curries. Though I do find the naan to be too plain and dry.

Service is quite okay. This is a nice and reasonably priced place to try out North Indian food.

My Thoughts: Nice!
