Fun at Kobe Port Tower and Mosiac Big Ferris Wheel

When someone asks me which part of Japan do I have most fun in, Kobe will actually be in my answer. And part of the reason is due the great time I have at Kobe Port Tower and Mosiac Big Ferris Wheel.

The ride on the Mosiac Big Ferris Wheel is a pretty short one, in a good way actually. Since this means that the waiting time is shorter, so we get to ride on the wheel shortly after we purchased the ticket. While on the wheel, we get to see the beautiful landscape of Kobe Harborland from elevated angle. And it is amazing that soem of the bulding structures actually look different from a different angle. It is fun, tempered with excitement of being suspended high up above the ground, and also idyllic and safe at the same time. The changing lights of the ferris wheel makes us feel like we are in dazzling fantasy land. When we get off the Ferris Wheel, we are still feeling the excitement of the ride. That's the charm of the shorter ride: one gets off while still immersing in the thrill of the ride, where the good memories lingers.

Haborland is such a beautiful place to explore, where there is a mix of impressive modern structures, rows of quaint brick warehouses known Renga Soko and traditional Japanese tranquil aesthetic designs, completed with Anpanman museum. Right beside all these is the beautiful sea where we stroll along the waterfront and enjoy the cool sea breeze. Not yet overrun by too many tourists, this is a scenic, peaceful place where we can really enjoy the beauty of Kobe.

Then we set our sights on the incredibly tall Port Tower towering before us, we figure that we might as well explore the tower since we are there. And it turns out to be one of the most exciting and fun experiences we have in Japan.

It feels so exhilarating standing at the top of the tower, with the strong winds blowing around us, metal mesh flooring below us and glass walls allowing us to have unblock view of Haborland and Kobe. It does feel like there is no barrier between us and the edge of the tower. So imagine that level of excitement when looking at Haborland from 108m high up above ground.

The fun doesn’t end at the your around the top of the tower. As we go down by a winding stairs to each level below, we discover digital art galleries. We create lots of beautiful fireworks by tapping the wall. We also add pastel cheery colours to the funky artwork on the wall.

There is a restaurant and a souvenir shop within the tower. The cat on the candy box looks so cute that I buy one.
