Cugini Trattoria Pizzeria - Wholesome and Awesome Food

This place is very popular with the expats and foodies, so despite making a booking 2 days prior, we only manage to snag an outdoors table, missing out on the gorgeous rustic interior that many raved about. But I’m not missing a big deal, since I still get to enjoy good food, which is the main reason I’m here.

Soft, fluffy bread paired with special tomato sauce is a great and special way to start a meal with. Yes, I’m impressed right from the get-go.

Calamari Fritti features fresh squid wrapped in crispy, flavouful batter that comes with sauces to further perk things up. And the squid is slightly chewy, yet easy to bite. Thumbs-up.

Antipasto Misto for ham lovers. I like the flatbread that comes with this.

Lobster Risotto is the star of the night. Lobster by itself is not really that great an ingredient, saved for the luxurious tag and price, but this dish manages to make this luxurious item taste great. This risotto is like a sea of umami soaked by the wholesome rice grains.

Iberico Pork is another highlight of the night. Full of flavours from the smoked, grilled meat, it is meat lovers’ true love.

Tortino Al Cioccolato wins my heart too. Lava chocolate pairs with ice-cream served at the exact right temperature (not too cold, but still holds its shape) always works.

Alfresco dining is pretty good on a breezy night. I took a peek at the interior, it does look very good. Though the alfresco dining area does get a bit dark at night. Well, great for a romantic time. I will love to visit here again if the chance arises.

Thoughts: Bravo! Great authentic Italian food!
