Leopold - Everything German ... and Austrian

Despite learning German, my food notes about German cuisine is scarce, most probably due to my misguided assumption that it's all about pork knuckles only. This assumption is overturned when an event takes me to Leopold, where I totally enjoy the food, drinks, being with the awesome German speaking community and learning more about German culture.

The food menu actually features quite a variety of food, from sides, mains, sausages, salads, cheese platters, currywurst to flammkuchen. Actually, I'm tempted to order quite a number of items in it.

The restaurant has the setting of a nice, modern watering hole that is perfect for gatherings.

Lychee Martini is full of floral sweetness. So refreshing that I order 2 of these.

Flammkuchen is like pizza, but thinner, and I love it. I actually prefer this over pizza due to the incredibly thin, crispy dough beneath the generous amount of cheeses and toppings. It is very big, so big that I can only get half of it in my photo, and so flavourful that I can easily finish all of it by myself. Das ist sehr lecker!

Gegrillte Käsekrainer is such a hearty treat. The sausages are delicious and especially good with the mustard sauce.

Das ist am besten Bier! Meaning this is the best beer … I have. Smooth and light on the palates, it is so refreshing.

I totally enjoy my time here and I'm already planning to come here again. More updates after my subsequent visits.

Thoughts: Immersing myself in the German culture here!
