Introduction

Not a foodie nor food connoisseur, just an individual who likes to write, dine and enjoy life.

I like to enjoy good food, and I had been writing my thoughts about various restaurants I had been to on HGW.  It came to a point in which I decided to set up this blog as a form of collection of my pleasant experiences at those restaurants. Yes, it is like a hobby of mine.

Instead of regarding all my posts as reviews, I prefer to call them notes that translated those memories of mine into words that do not alter or fade with time. Other reasons for maintaining this blog are not to gain any benefits, but for the joy I derive from writing, to help others to suss out the good restaurants and hopefully, give the decent restaurants, especially those headed by local chefs, the recognition they deserve.

I mostly write on my lunch experiences since I am busy at night ... okay, I admit that I also need my beauty sleep early at night. Well, it is about enjoying life and noting it down here, so I choose whatever timing I feel most comfortable with dining. Still, I hope that notes on the restaurants will help readers to make informed decisions on where to go for great meals during lunchtime. It helps to read more than one review to make an informed decision.

There will not be lots of photos available for the very early posts since I usually attack the food the moment I see them, losing many opportunities to take any pictures.  In addition, the photos are mostly taken with my ipad many years ago, the resolution is low, so I combine a number of pictures into one. So if the food actually looks good in my photos with my near-to-nil photography skills (but I have an eye for artistic beauty), then be assured that it actually appears very delicious-looking in real-life.

Update: I now take better photos with my iphone and I'm into Floral Photography. But still, I do not wish to use my Olympus setup on food because my skills on photography are flexed on flowers, the best model in the world, instead. Also into Art Appreciation, which is why I love going to restaurants with awesome or distinctive decor, Paper Flower Making and Learning Japanese + German.

I'm a dessert lover, and no matter how full I am, there is always room for two or more servings of desserts.


As for why there is a lack of negative rants on this site: well, I used to write quite a number—in fact, I write pretty funny and interesting complaints—but I am now too busy with many commitments that I simply do not have the energy to waste my time on the bad restaurants. In addition, the name of this site is "Morsels of Délice", so I cannot be putting up stuff that totally defies what the name implies.

Lastly, kindly take note that my opinions of the food, service and ambience are purely based on my own experiences and preferences only.  They may not align with everyone's or most people's views, nor represent the general opinion. In addition, the standard of the restaurants may change with time, so what is good at the time of writing my note may not be so in the future.

One thing for sure, this is a hobby, and will remain a hobby.
