I pass by Glasshouse at Neil Road almost every week to attend my German lesson at Goethe Institute, yet I only step into this cool and bright cafe many months later, which is now. Looking at the minimalist, chic layout of the place, I do wonder why I didn't stop by to check out this nice cool place earlier. Anyway, better late than never.
Glasshouse Sourdough Waffles features the fluffiest waffles with a more pronounced taste of grains plus a small hint of tang. This is so yummy that I can absolutely finish this on its own. The caramel goodness of maple butter and the cold creaminess of gelato make the waffles taste even better. A must-try here.
The croissant is super buttery and flaky. This is one excellent croissant. And very tasty when paired with cheese and ham. The refreshing, soothing kombucha goes very well with the croissant.
Pasta of the day is Summer Pasta. Packed with the sweet corn, crunchy refreshing zucchini cubes and tangy cherry tomatoes, the pasta tastes fresh and is full of simulating flavours. The fusilli pasta is spiral in shape, which makes for a nice, interesting texture to savour.
The place has this very chic, modern and soothing feel that makes one feel hip and cool when dining dining. I'm actually surprised by how good the food here is since I had assumed this cafe to be more about lifestyle than food. I'm wrong in my assumption, obviously lol The service is good too, being polite, friendly and quick to respond.
