I had passed by Binomio lots of time on Saturday afternoons, and the terracotta red exterior of this restaurant definitely caught my attention. But since it is not opened on Saturday afternoon, the rustic arch door with green mosaic lining its perimeter and the stretch of lattice windows seem to me like they are holding lots of secrets behind them. So the moment I finally visit the restaurant when it is opened in the evening, I'm surprised by how inviting and alive the place looks. The doors are fully thrown opened and the windows pulled all the way to the sides, giving passer-by a full, unobstructed view of the cool, rustic bar counter within.
This is a place to see and to be seen, while enjoying good food.
There is a secret hidden within actually, and it is the dining area at the middle and back of the restaurant. While the bar area is the perfect rustic watering hole, in Spanish style, for the cool, the hip and those who just want to wind down, the dining area is romantic, posh and intimate.
I opt for the bar area since I prefer the bar menu of greater variety of tapas with smaller portions. The food items for dining area are more for sharing. By the way, unless one is going for tasting menu at the bar, I recommend ordering 2 tapas first and then add more as one goes along, depending how full the stomach is. The service crew is perfectly fine with this style of ordering, thumbs-up for this.
Prawns sauteed in olive oil, garlic and parsley is very generous in portion, this can really be shared between two persons. Lots of fresh, plump, tasty prawns and super tasty crunchy bread drenched in flavourful oil of garlic and parsley. I love this. I actually manage to finish this by myself despite the huge serving.
