Schreiben ist meine Leidenschaft

Eine ganze Weile lang ich habe mehr Videos geschaut und Reddit-Geschichten gelesen als mich aufs Schreiben konzentriert. Als ich über meine kulinarischen Abenteuer schrieb, dokumentierte ich die Ereignisse aus Pflichtgefühl und nicht aus Leidenschaft. Ich fühlte mich zwar friedlich und glücklich, ber auch unerfüllt. Nach einem fantastischen Essen, das ein attraktiver Koch zubereitet hatte, beschloss ich, mich auf das Schreiben über dieses Erlebnis zu konzentrieren, anstatt mir noch ein Video anzuschauen. Es gibt mir so viel Energie, wenn ich über dieses Erlebnis schreibe. Schreiben ist wirklich meine Leidenschaft.

My Spirits and Wine Collection

After gathering a collection of spirits and some wines, I realise that for myself, wine is excellent as accompaniment to food and yes, I always order wine when fine dining. But when it comes to drinking the beverage by itself, spirit is my choice instead.

I simply prefer the rich, intense, sweet taste of spirit while wine has varying degrees of tannins that I absolutely appreciate when pairing with food, but not so much on its own. And since spirit is more intoxicating and carries no sugars, it is perfect for drinking late at night to relax.

And I also realise I do not get hangover from quality spirits, quality wines and quality sakes. Otherwise, it’s real bad for me.

My collection of liquor. The best part of liquor is that I don’t need to store them in fridge and I can keep them for as long as I want. There is no hurry to finish an opened bottle within days.

Yasen barrel 40% tastes savoury sweet with intense taste profile of brown sugar and dried fruits.

Kanosuke Single malt Japanese Whisky features the aroma of wood and it totally changes my perspective that whisky is heavy and has strong medicinal aroma. Yes, after this, I start to appreciate whisky. At first, it tastes smooth and bitter, now it tastes smooth and sweet. Amazing.

Nardini reminds of woods and fruits. I fall in love with it at first sip.

Hampten is my favourite. Yes, I’m officially a fan of rum! This is full of the funk of dried fruits. So intense and so sweet.

Yasen Gold speaks of the sweetness of vanilla ❤️

Graoma Red that has the mild aroma of oak but not overwhelming. I love it. Goes perfectly with Iberico ham.

Best dessert wine comes in the form of Gramona Vi de Glass. It is do smooth, not too sweet, and goes amazingly well with any desserts. My favourite dessert wine of all.

Kleine Notizen Ein

 Ich werde kleine Notizen anstelle meines. Tagebuchs schreiben, weil ich vielleicht nicht jeden Tag die Inspiration habe, etwas zu schreiben.

Ich habe viele deutsche Worte vergessen! Ich hoffe, dass ich besser in Deutsch werde, wenn ich mehr kleine Notizen schreibe.

Taiwanese Snacks 💖

I got some awesome Taiwanese snacks from Handsome 😊 What makes it even better is that the snacks are really delicious!

My stash of goodies that I hog all for my own enjoyment, despite me being always up for sharing the good stuff with my family.

幸福張 handmade peanut wafer is packed with rich peanut butter sandwiched between layers of super crispy wafers. The contrast in textures is great and the savoury nutty taste of peanut makes this snack more exciting and creamy in taste.

蔥軋餅, which is onion nougat cookies, is da bomb. This is oh-so-good and is a must-get if travelling in Taiwan. Despite the look of cookies, the texture is similar to that of nougat, being chewy. And I love this interesting texture, which complements the creaminess of the onion cream. The distinctive pungency of the onion, highlighted by a slight sweetness, makes this such an unique and irresistible treat.

Ruyi Sunny Cake 杏仁䐁肉纸 is another interesting delicacy from Taiwan. Pork is stretched and grilled dried to be this paper-thin crispy snack with a good meaty flavour. Think pork floss in paper form. It’s way better than pork floss due to the texture and the additional sweetness of grilled meat.

Home Made Dumplings is the Best!

It’s time for Chinese Dumplings! And I’m so looking forward to dumplings made by my mum. It’s a show of her love for us because making these dumplings take so much effort. From buying huge bulk of the ingredients such as bamboo leaves, bamboo veins, glutinous rice, pork, mushrooms, chestnuts and spices. And she needs to chop up the meat and pluck out the bitter veins from the chestnuts. Saved for the spices and meat, she needs to soak all the ingredients in water overnight to soften them. Then she spends lots of time wrapping the dumplings and cooking each batch for 3 hours. The whole process takes more than 12 hours. And yes, the kitchen is so hot.

Despite the tedious work, she wants to make these dumplings for her children because we are so fussy about the dumplings we eat. We only eat dumplings made by our mum. I had brought dumplings from restaurants and stores, and none manages to make me go back a second time for them. Too oily, too salty, you get the drift.

Ich bin froh, dass ich bei DnD betrunken war, denn ich hatte gute Kollegen, die auf mich aufgepasst haben. Es wäre gefährlich, wenn ich mich bei anderen Gelegenheiten betrinken würde. Es war das erste Mal, dass ich betrunken war, also weiß ich jetzt zumindest, wie gefährlich es ist, betrunken zu sein. Ich werde in Zukunft vorsichtig sein.

Ich esse heute im Sentosa Cove. Der Ort ist sehr schön, weil es am Meer liegt und es viele Yachten gibt. Es ist besser, leichtere Kleidung zu tragen, weil es hier idyllisch ist. Ich trage diese glänzende, sexy Kleidung, die eher zum Feiern in einer Bar geeignet ist. Aber ich denke, dass ich toll aus sehe, und das ist das Wichtigste.

Ja, ich habe diesen Film viele Male gesehen, um Stuart Townsend und Robert Farnham zu sehen.

I have such amazing time onboard Royal Caribbean. Lots of great food choices, lots of entertaining performances, lots of heart-plumping dancing sessions, lots of random exploration, lots of relaxation time by the sea and lots of cute trivial quizzes.

The spread and variety at Windjammer is awesome. And the place becomes full-house fast, so go early to secure a table.

Main Dining Hall is another hot spot where a long queue is usually spotted at the entrance. The concept is that of fine dining where one can choose the appetiser, main and dessert from the choices available. Another awesome part is that one is not restricted to one choice of each category, so one can order quite a number of different appetiser, main or dessert to try. 

Maine Lobster, a premium special that I order. The flesh is bouncy, yet to easy to bite, teh texture is perfect!

I also got a complimentary dining offer at Solarium Bistro, a restaurant specialising in Mediterranean cuisine, served buffet style. This is perfect for a change in taste, and the food here proves to be refreshing, yummy and different.

Another dining option is Two70 Cafe, with some good choices of breakfast and brunch choices. The view here is awesome. And it is the choice location for holding shows and dancing sessions.

There are so many places to explore, from the grandeur interior, beautiful displays, chilling spots, lounges, bars to the poolside.

Trip to Penang

One of my favourite activity onboard is to just relax and admire the serene beauty of the sea. It feels so calming and soothing to just stare out into the seemingly boundless sea.

Sunset at my balcony. Yes, a room with balcony is a must for me. I just fall asleep countless of times from just staring at the sea. It feels so good to be able to do that.
