おにぎり屋ONIGIRI-YA

On the way to Mt-Fuji on a tour bus, it is scheduled to do a quick stop at Dangozaka Service Area Westbound, so that we can go out to get some fresh air, stretch our legs, go to the washroom, do some shopping or grab some bites.

I don’t intend to grab a bite actually. But when I see Grilled Onigiri at a quaint stall called Onigiri-Ya, I say that I got to try it. I mean, where else can I find grilled onigiri?

I got the signature Grilled Mentaiko Cheese Onigiri, served on bamboo boat, and it is oh-so-good. Unlike the usual onigiri, the onigiri here is served piping hot after freshly grilled. And it is so satisfying to tuck into piping hot seasoned rice amid the cool weather. The grilled part of the rice enhances the sweetness of the rice and complements the cheese and mentaiko so well. I wish I have time to eat a second one.

Thoughts: Must Try if at Dangozaka Service Area Westbound
